It represents stumps with the appearance of burned by fire trees. It is believed that Vkamenenata gora is at age of approximately 30 millions years and is a result of an underwater volcanic activity and external Earth powers. The high temperature carbonized whole trees or parts of them. During the later stages, hollow places were filled and this way were formed the stone trees. The stone trees reveal themselves from both sides of the ravine along approximately 200 m. ‘The forest’ consists of nearly twenty exemplars high up to 1.0 – 1.5 m and diameter of the trunk from 0.4 m to 0.6 m. Two of them have a diameter of around 4 m and highness of 1m; in the vertical section of the trunks clearly can be distinguished the annual rings. Uniqueness of the Raven forest is that trees are upright. Similar case was never described in Bulgaria by now.
